ABOUT YOUR WORKSHOP

All our workshops are taught by award-winning artisan baker and sourdough expert Helen Underwood. You'll be learning with a small group of people; we like to keep the classes cozy, so that your bread gets all the attention it needs and deserves! 

The workshops are held in our farmhouse kitchen at the White Cottage Baking School, itself in a picturesque Cambridgeshire village. The full day courses include both a welcome breakfast, and a delicious lunch—​which is taken in the cottage garden whenever the weather permits. The half day workshops include a coffee break with homemade goodies straight from the bakery to fuel your labours.

   WHAT WILL I LEARN?

You'll receive instruction on the techniques involved in bread-making, all the while working with our fresh, additive-free and locally-sourced ingredients to put what you're learning into practice with plenty of hands-on experience. 

You can expect expert tips and tricks from Helen--she loves to share the knowledge and passion for bread-making she's developed over her time as a professional baker. ​You'll leave with all the skills and enthusiasm you need to make delicious bread in your own kitchen!

    WHAT SHOULD I BRING?

We will provide all the tools and ingredients you'll work with, as well as aprons. You'll just need comfy shoes! Wear something with sleeves that can be rolled up, as baking can get messy.

At the end of the course we'll send you home with a bag full of your own bread creations and the recipes to get you started on your baking journey!
